Caribbean Marine Research Lab

St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands U.S. National Park Service, University of Virgin Islands and Joint Institute for Caribbean Marine Studies – HTH is working with Lord, Aeck & Sargent Architecture in Atlanta, Georgia to provide aquacultural and seawater systems engineering services for an advanced marine research and education center. By definition, this net-zero energy project is a model for sustainable marine laboratory and education center design, construction and operation that fully embraces the tenets of the U.S. Green Building Council and the Living Building Challenge. The center will assist the NPS and VI Government in managing and sustaining territorial and regional marine resources which includes addressing global warming and ocean acidification.
